Streets to Peaks – a Maybin Mission program powered by Camp Grier – provides enriching outdoor experiences to youth with limited access to wilderness adventures. Through exciting challenges like rock climbing and whitewater paddling, program participants ages 11-18 learn to overcome obstacles, set long term goals and imagine a future with endless possibilities.Originally formed in Asheville, NC in 2016, Streets to Peaks began through the vision and funding of Cameron and Courtney Maybin and their Maybin Mission.
Students are accepted into the Streets to Peaks program at the beginning of their sixth grade year and have the opportunity to continue through their senior year of high school.
We are pleased to announce that Camp Grier is expanding it's Streets to Peaks program to Charlotte, NC!
Thanks to a partnership with First Presbyterian Church Charlotte and Westerly Hills Academy young people in Mecklenburg County will be able to participate in life enriching outdoor experiences beginning in 2018. S2P Charlotte will build on the successful model of the Maybin Mission program in Asheville to provide weekend outdoor experiences throughout the year and a week of camp each summer.
Our class of 2018 is currently full. Check back in the summer of 2018 for information about the class of 2019.
