We are looking for staff members that have a strong commitment to Jesus Christ, enthusiasm, a sense of humor, flexibility, camping experiences and skills, high moral standards, a love for kids, and a desire to grow personally. Experience love and community at Camp Grier. The work is hard but the rewards are great; it is stressful but nurturing. This is more than just a summer job; it is a ministry to the youth.
Counselor jobs are assigned on a weekly basis and you will have the opportunity to experience a wide range of activities and age groups based on your interest and skills. In addition to the primary job of counselor, summer staff also rotate through a variety of support staff positions, including Kitchen/Cookout-Specialist, Outfitter, Craft "Lady," Lifeguard (for certified lifeguards only), and any other position as needed.
Ten days prior to the start of the summer program, we will have a staff training, where all counselors will have the opportunity to learn about and experience all the camp activities, as well as go through intensive risk management and group dynamic training. All staff will go through CPR and First Aid training during this time.
