VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES:
As many of you already know, we are converting the former caretaker's cottage into our donor house/adult facility. A lot of work has been done to the house and we would like to thank everyone who has had a hand in its rehabilitation. Thank you to JD Waldrop and Scott Rice of Unity Presbyterian Church for installing the new flooring in the kitchen, laundry room, and master bedroom. Thanks go to the folks at Union Presbyterian Church for the deck addition and painting the outside of the house. Thank you to Southminster Presbyterian Church for purchasing the house paint and the kitchen paint and the new replacement windows. Thanks also to Southminster for painting the kitchen cabinets and the installation of all those shiny new windows! Thanks as well to Berry Berryhill for purchasing the wall paint and to him and his brother, David, for all the hours they spent painting and repairing various areas of the house as well as to all their friends who showed up to help out in ways too numerous to count. If we have forgotten anyone, we certainly apologize.
However, we're not done yet! The outside trim on the house need to be painted and the floors need to be lightly sanded once that is completed, we can proceed with decorating the house and readying it for use.
If your group is looking for a short-term service project to work on, we have the job for you! Please contact Jan at the camp office at 828-668-7793 to make arrangements for your crew to participate in this volunteer opportunity.
